After their journey in IPL 2023 has ended, the list of Indian players who are on the way to England for the World Test Championship Final.
Early on Tuesday morning, the first group of Indian players and support personnel departed for London in preparation for the World Test Championship match against Australia, which will take place at The Oval from June 7–11.
After the IPL final on May 28 and before the convocation of the entire team for the WTC final, the Indian team is scheduled to depart for London in phases.
Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur are among the initial group of players since their clubs are not eligible for the IPL play-offs. Seniors Virat Kohli and R Ashwin will go later, most likely on May 24. Their clubs, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals, are no longer competing in the IPL.
Umesh Yadav, whose Kolkata Knight Riders squad is also eliminated from the IPL, could eventually make it to England.
Jaydev Unadkat, who has been receiving treatment for a shoulder injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, is anticipated to be ready for the WTC final and may depart after May 27.
The first batch of the three standby players will include bowler Mukesh Kumar; Ruturaj Gaikwad and Suryakumar Yadav will follow when their respective IPL teams, the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, have finished their matches.
