IPL playoffs 2023 have increased ad prices, and Disney Star, the official television broadcaster of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023–27, is charging more for the second leg of the competition.
According to several reports, the broadcaster plans to charge between INR 20 and 24 lakhs for a 10-second commercial spot during the postseason. Every 10 seconds, league games cost between INR 15 and 16 lahks in advertising.
Several sponsors are now in discussions with the broadcaster, according to a top media planner, and deals will probably be finalised by next week.
Disney Star has also added four new sponsors since the start of the season, and the channel reports that discussions to add a few more businesses are in progress. Since the inception of the IPL, Star Sports has signed with roughly 40 firms covering 7-8 categories.
Around 95 sponsors have collaborated with Star Sports during the IPL season. Most of these brands—nearly 45—are new to the IPL and weren’t there in prior seasons. Numerous new product categories have been introduced this season, ranging from FMCG items like biscuits, dry fruits, and dairy items to brick-and-mortar construction products, mobility-focused categories like travel luggage and online travel booking, and family-focused items like jewellery, ethnic wear, and kitchen appliances.
Including Dream11, Kamala Pasand, Airtel, Coke, Parle, Mountain Dew, Asian Paints, Tata Neu, Mondelelz, Britannia, RuPay, Jindal Steel, Rapido, Amul, Ultratech, Vanessa, Disney Star now has 16 sponsors for the 16th IPL season.
