Kuldeep Yadav, the standout spinner for Team India, has enjoyed a career thus far that has been filled with excitement, both with the national team and in the Indian Premier League. Kuldeep was a pillar of Team India’s lineup up to the 2019 World Cup before being benched. However, he made a spectacular comeback across all formats last year and is still an important member of the squad, especially in short overs. Kuldeep spent some of his greatest IPL seasons with the Kolkata Knight Riders before a string of unreliable outings reduced his playing time and led to his unceremonious dismissal from the team before the 2022 season. Sachin Tendulkar , the legend said Kuldeep to be careful of the IPL lifestyle.
Kuldeep’s investment came from Delhi Capitals, and he didn’t let them down, collecting 21 wickets in 14 games. The left-arm spinner has been in strong form for the Capitals this season, giving runs at only 6.74 and taking eight wickets in his first nine outings.
Even though Kuldeep didn’t make his IPL debut until four years after being selected by the Mumbai Indians, the spinner learned a lot while sitting on the MI bench and bowling to one of the game’s all-time great batsmen, Sachin Tendulkar. Kuldeep talked openly about his interaction with
Tendulkar during his rookie season on “Breakfast with Champions”. He said that the ‘Master Blaster’ gave him some very important advice regarding the IPL.
Kuldeep recounted that, prior to joining the MI team in the 2012 IPL, he went on a trip with the U19 team and spoke with Tendulkar after bowling to the legendary batsman in the nets.
Kuldeep said that Season 2012 was in effect, and he had made the Indian U19 squad, and during the IPL, he played a series in Australia, but it wasn’t a really enjoyable trip. He added that that afternoon when Sachin had to bat, and for nearly an hour, he bowled him and even got him out. Further,
Kuldeep said that Sachin spoke with him for 30 minutes.
Kuldeep said Sachin discussed the IPL with him and advised him to use caution when leading the IPL lifestyle, get enough sleep, eat well, and limit his time spent wandering around because many people would approach him.
Kuldeep is doing admirably so far this season, but the Delhi Capitals are experiencing one of their poorest campaigns to date, winning just three of their nine games. With six points, the DC sits at the bottom of the standings.
