David Warner compares Ashish Nehra to a soccer coach and showers praise on him. The captain of the Delhi Capitals, admitted that he was taken aback by Ashish Nehra’s selection as Gujarat Titans’ head coach. Notably, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the IPL in 2016 under Warner’s leadership, and Nehra played a key role in the team’s success.
The Australian player said that he finds it difficult to comprehend how Nehra is able to lead a team because of how humorous he is off the pitch.
Notably, Nehra assisted Gujarat Titans in 2022, during their inaugural season, to win the IPL. Warner compared Nehra’s leadership style to that of a football coach, who is constantly guiding his team from the sidelines. He said that this is how T20 cricket coaching should be done.
The Delhi Capitals of David Warner were unsuccessful in making the playoffs for the IPL 2023. Due to Warner’s inconsistency throughout the season, they have had a very bad season. The bulk of the middle-order batters have been having trouble, and occasionally, the performances of the bowlers have been unimpressive; thus, the squad has obviously missed having Rishabh Pant in the midst.
They haven’t had many good things happen to them this year, so the Capitals will be motivated to improve next year. In regards to David Warner, he will next head to England to join the Australian team as they get ready for the next Ashes series and the WTC final.
