The IPL 2023 captains who have received slow over rate penalty and other code of conduct offences are shown below.
Over rates are addressed under clause 12.7 of the IPL Playing Conditions. The rule states that a side must complete 14.11 overs per hour and that “the 20th over should finish within 90 minutes (being 85 minutes of playing time plus 5 minutes of time-out) of the start of the innings.”
If a team violates these rules, they forfeit the additional fielder outside the 30-yard circle. The skipper gets fined INR 12 lakh for his first infraction. The fine is quadrupled for the second offence, while the other team members are fined INR 6 lakh or 25% of their match fee, whichever is less.
