The Legend Sunil Gavaskar advised about the cricket world cup 2023 to prevent the Indian squad from making the error of forgetting the ODI series loss to Australia amid the commotion caused by the highly publicised Indian Premier League (IPL), which kicks off on March 31. Australia won the series 1-2 after India lost the third and final one-day international by 21 runs on Wednesday in Chennai. According to batting icon Gavaskar, Rohit Sharma’s team may face the same opponents in the 50-over World Cup that India will be hosting in October and November.
“Of course, the IPL is currently underway (March 31). It is important to remember this (the series loss). India occasionally makes the error of ignoring this, but not this time as we could meet Australia again in the World Cup “Gavaskar stated on Star Sports.
“Because to the strain that was put on them, they lost the third ODI (by Australians). They (the Indian hitters) weren’t even getting singles since the boundaries had stopped coming. When that occurs, you attempt to play a game you are unfamiliar with. They will have to take a look at that.” India needed to reach 248 in 49.1 overs to win the third and final ODI and the three-match series after setting a target of 270.
The only significant partnerships for India were 65 between openers Rohit Sharma (30) and Shubman Gill and 69 runs for the third wicket between Virat Kohli (54) and KL Rahul (32). (37).
“A partnership of roughly 90 or 100 will get you close when you are going for a score of 270 or almost 300. But, that didn’t occur, according to former India captain Gavaskar.
The ICC World Cup 2023 is Going to start from October 5. India will host the world cup 2023.
