Pakistan Anticipates Government’s Call on India Participation. The government of Pakistan must approve Pakistan’s participation in the 50-over World Cup, which will be held by India later this year, according to a report.
Earlier in the week, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the sport’s governing body, and the participating teams were provided with a draught schedule by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), asking for their input. The announcement of the final timetable is anticipated for next week.
From October 5 to November 19, the World Cup will be contested in India at a number of sites.
The tentative schedule states that India will meet Pakistan in a tantalising match on October 15 in Ahmedabad. Pakistan will play over a total of five sites during the league round of the competition.
Najam Sethi, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), however, stated that their participation in the premier competition is subject to sanction from their government.
According to Sethi, their government must make the decision, just as in India, the government determines when the team is allowed to play. He said asking us if they will play in Ahmedabad is pointless. In addition, he stated that when the time comes, the government will determine whether they are going or not before deciding where they will go, and that choice would be based on these two crucial factors.
